Short Month, Big Impact: 4th Grade’s Jam-Packed February! 🏈❤️✨

February may be the shortest month of the year and it  sure is jam packed with fun and learning in Ms. Punu and Miss Applegate’s 4th grade. 

With San Francisco/Santa Clara being host cities to this year’s Super Bowl, the students were excited to show off their gear during Spirit Day.  The students completed Super Bowl themed math and excitedly discussed what yummy foods they would be eating as they watched the game.

Kindness Week was also in full swing during the month of February and the 4th grades combined for a joint lunch to commemorate this special week. We are all in agreement that kindness should not be limited to just one week of the year, but rather kindness should be on full display every day!

In honor of Black History Month, the students each researched an influential black leader and completed a pennant. They also continued the vision of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. and created beautiful art depicting their dreams for the future.   Upon completion of reading the novel The Watsons Go to Birmingham - 1963, the students worked on a photojournalism assignment that included adding themselves to a historic photo and an essay detailing what they would hear, see and do if they were alive in the 1960s.
